It was celebration galore on Thursday as PWD Progressive Stakeholders Forum, PPSF and its national chairman, Comrade Mohammed Abba Isa, were both honoured at an occasion in Abuja in recognition of their contributions to the mobilization of the Persons With Disabilities, PWD communities towards the success of the governing All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2023 general elections.
First, it was the PPSF that was honoured with a prestigious award in appreciation of the support the PWD played in the success of APC at the last general elections. This was closely followed with the honouring of the PPSF National Chairman, Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa, who also received an award for his super contribution to the success of the APC in the last election.
The award ceremony which held at the International Conference Center, Abuja, was organized by the APC National Integrity Movement was held to appreciate and Award Heroes and Heroines of Renewed Hope 2023 victory of His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President, Kashim Shettima.
Recall that the governing APC had emerged victorious at the presidential election conducted on February 25th 2023 where its candidates Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima defeated the candidates of the opposition parties, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Mr Peter Obi of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and Labour Party respectively.
The APC also clinched victory in majority of the State governorship elections emerging with 15 States, PDP won in 12 States, NNPP and Labour Party clinched 1 State each.
The PPSF had played major role through the performance of its members in the APC NWC, thanks to Hon. Tolu Bankole, the APC National disability leader who is also Board Chairman of the PPSF for mobilizing PWDs across the States of the federation in support of the APC in the build up to the 2023 general elections.
The organisers of the award gave a testament that that PWDs particularly, members of PPSF were very visible in the APC structure (working Committees) and were prominent in all electioneering activities that led to the party’s victory and therefore deserved the awards.
In his remarks, the PPSF Chairman, Comerade Mohammed Abba Isa hailed the APC National Integrity Movement for recognising the efforts of PWDs in the electioneering success of the APC and appealed for political rewards for its members in terms of appointment and other benefits.
