Nigerian Army partners Beautiful Gate, distributes 220 Wheelchairs In Plateau and Bauchi States

The Special Task Force, Operation Safe Haven has distributed over 200 wheelchairs in partnership with the Beautiful Peoples Handicap Center Jos to person with disabilities, this according to the military formation is aimed at strengthening Civil Military relations.

While distributing the wheelchairs to the 220 beneficiaries, Commander Operation Safe Haven, Major General I. S Ali noted that the OPSH will continue to deploy both Kinetic and Non Kinetic strategies in fighting insecurity within the operational area.

He called on the civil society and leaders at all levels to see people living with special needs as important stakeholders and partners in fostering unity,tolerance, peace and development insecurity and fostering peace in the society, adding that such was the reason why the beneficiaries were selected, cutting across all ethnic and religious divides.

He assured the public of the readiness of the Operation to continue to partner with various nongovernmental organizations in order to help people loving with special needs.

Speaking at the event, Executive Director, Beautiful Gate Handicap Peoples Center Jos, Chief Ayuba Burki Gwufan said that the center was established mainly to focus on the meeting the needs of people with disabilities, these according to him include victims of polio, accident victims as well as bomb blast victims.

He warned beneficiaries not to sell the items, stressing that the wheelchairs provided were given for use and not for sale. The beneficiaries were drawn from the 17 LGAs of Plateau State and 2 LGAs of Bauchi State. Each of the beneficiaries went home with a wheelchair, a 10 kg bag of rice and a token. They expressed gratitude to God for using Operation Safe Haven and Beautiful Gate Handicap Peoples Center Jos to reach out to them.
