In order to broaden the reach of Persons With Disabilities across Nigeria, the Executive Secretary, National Commission for Persons With Disabilities, Mr James David Lalu has visited the Studios of Human Rights Radio 101.1fm Abuja today 7th, September 2023.

The ES in his speech appreciated the Radio Station for assisting to feature issues on disabilities and also sought the consent of the Management for strong partnership.

He further seized the occasion to first recognize the political will demonstrated by the former President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari in establishing the Commission and further mentioned that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has equally shown the zeal to continue on the same pedestrian.

“We will continue to acknowledge the immediate past and the present Presidents of Nigeria as the defenders of the rights of Persons With Disabilities” Lalu said.

The Commission’s boss also informed of the Accessibility Standard Law which will be enforced at its expiration by January, 2024.

According to him, the law empowers the commission to seal up public facilities that do not conform with the Minimum Accessibility Standards.

In a quick response, the founder and President of Human Rights Radio, Ahmed Isa, also known as ‘Ordinary President’ who was visibly excited by the visit, felt very pleased to receive the delegation.

He further promised to provide every support needed in partnership with the Commission to alleviate the plights of Persons With Disabilities in Nigeria.

The Ordinary President further pledged to offer one year free airtime for the Commission every Thursday at the station in order to handle disability issues with the support of Federal Competition and Consumer Protection (FCCP).

Ahmed Isa then appreciated the ES for his passion and reiterated his commitments to making lives better for Persons With Disabilities in the country.
