The ES National Commission for Persons with Disabilities, Mr. James David Lalu has said that the Commission is open to collaboration with any Establishment whose objective is the inclusions and development of Persons with disabilities.
In a press release signed by Mbanefo JohnMicheal I, the head of Media and Publicity Unit, NCPWD, Lalu made the statement recently in Abuja while receiving in audience a delegation from the Digital Identification for Development Projects (ID4D)
The ES further said that the collaboration with the group will be central to easy identifications of Persons with Disabilities in the course of issuance of the Disability Certificates.
“Once the Commission is able to curb the challenges of identifying the real PWDs in Nigeria, we will start the printing and discharging of Disability Certificates that will be used in the banks, hospitals, hotels, railways and what’s more” he disclosed.
The ES, however used the medium to appreciate President Muhammadu Buhari for accenting to the disability Act 2018 which contains the 5% job creation for Persons with Disabilities in Nigeria.
In his speech, the Coordinator, Digital Identification for Development Projects, Mr. Solomon Odole, stated that the group is interested in promoting the susceptible groups in the Society and their interest is primarily to advance.the course of PWDs .
He also used the platform to state that a Desk Officer who will serve as a link between the partnership of NCPWD and the organizations is necessary .
