The National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) has extended warm birthday felicitations to its supervising minister, Dr. Bernard Mohammed Doro, the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, describing him as a passionate leader whose commitment to service continues to positively impact millions of Nigerians, including persons with disabilities.
In a congratulatory message marking the Minister’s birthday, the Commission applauded Dr. Doro’s wealth of experience, visionary leadership, and unwavering dedication to humanitarian service, poverty reduction, and social protection. According to the NCPWD, these qualities align seamlessly with its mandate of promoting the rights, inclusion, and empowerment of persons with disabilities across Nigeria.
Since assuming office, Dr. Bernard Doro has demonstrated a strong resolve to address humanitarian challenges and reduce poverty through people-centred policies and inclusive interventions. His approach, the Commission noted, has provided renewed hope for vulnerable populations and strengthened ongoing efforts to dismantle systemic barriers faced by persons with disabilities.
The NCPWD emphasised that Dr. Doro’s leadership has been instrumental in advancing initiatives that directly and indirectly improve the quality of life of persons with disabilities, while fostering collaboration among key stakeholders in the humanitarian and social development space. The Commission expressed pride in working under his supervision and contributing to shared goals of equity, dignity, and inclusive national development.
Reaffirming its commitment, the Commission pledged continued synergy with the Honourable Minister to effectively actualise the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly as it concerns the full implementation of disability-inclusive policies and programmes. The NCPWD expressed optimism that under Dr. Doro’s watch, more doors of opportunity would open for persons with disabilities, leading to increased empowerment, social protection, and participation in national life.
“As we celebrate this milestone with our supervising minister, we are confident that his tenure will further strengthen disability inclusion and help overcome longstanding obstacles to accessibility and equality in Nigeria,” the statement read.
The Commission concluded by offering prayers and goodwill messages to Dr. Bernard Doro, wishing him a birthday filled with joy, peace, and fulfilment, and praying for divine wisdom, sound health, and strength as he continues to serve humanity and the nation at large.
The message was signed by Chief Ayuba Burki Gufwan, Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD).
