NAPWPD FCT Partners Ever Possible Humanitarian Foundation to Launch Life-Changing Empowerment Program for Persons with Disabilities

Abuja, Nigeria – A new chapter of hope and opportunity unfolded today as the National Association of Persons with Physical Disabilities (NAPWPD), FCT Chapter, under the leadership of its Chairman, Comrade Chris Agbo, joined forces with the Ever Possible Humanitarian Foundation to launch an empowerment program designed to transform the lives of persons with disabilities.

The initiative, unveiled in Abuja, stands out as a groundbreaking approach to economic empowerment. Unlike traditional training programs, this model puts choice and control directly in the hands of persons with disabilities. Participants are given the rare opportunity to select a skill of their own choice, identify training centers within their proximity, while the Foundation steps in to negotiate and pay the training fees. Even more remarkably, upon completion of their training, the Foundation provides startup support, enabling participants to take their first bold steps into entrepreneurship.

“This program is unique because it doesn’t just hand out promises, it creates real opportunities,” said Comrade Agbo. “We are giving our members the chance to decide their own future by choosing the skills that matter most to them and ensuring they are supported until they can stand on their own.”

At the heart of this initiative is Mrs. Uzochi Nwauzuka, the visionary founder of Ever Possible Humanitarian Foundation. Her passion for empowering persons with disabilities, particularly women, has been the driving force behind the project. For years, Mrs. Nwauzuka has been quietly identifying, training, and setting up women with disabilities in small businesses, often funding the efforts from her own resources. Recognizing the growing demand and the need for wider support, she registered the Foundation to scale her impact and reach more people.

Speaking at the event, Mrs. Nwauzuka said: “My vision has always been to see persons with disabilities, especially women, rise above stereotypes and become financially independent. This program is not about charity, it’s about dignity, choice, and empowerment.”

Beneficiaries expressed excitement and gratitude, describing the program as a timely intervention that goes beyond promises and truly invests in their future. For many, the prospect of choosing a skill and receiving post-training startup support means breaking free from dependence and embracing economic self-reliance.

Observers note that this partnership between NAPWPD FCT and Ever Possible Humanitarian Foundation sets a powerful example of inclusive development in action. It highlights the role of collaboration between disability organizations and humanitarian initiatives in addressing systemic barriers and creating practical solutions.

As the first set of trainees begin their journey, the program is already being celebrated as a model that could be replicated across Nigeria, potentially lifting thousands of persons with disabilities into meaningful livelihoods and contributing to a more inclusive, productive society.

With initiatives like this, the future of disability inclusion in Nigeria looks brighter — a future where persons with disabilities are not just beneficiaries of aid but drivers of their own success stories.
