The Enugu State chapter of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for his groundbreaking announcement to establish the Enugu State Disability Commission before the end of the first quarter of 2025.
The announcement, made on Saturday, December 14, 2024, during a town hall meeting at the Old Government Lodge, Enugu, marks a historic step toward inclusivity and equal opportunities for persons with disabilities (PWDs) in the state.

Governor Mbah made the declaration in response to concerns raised by the Chairman of JONAPWD, Enugu State Chapter, Comrade Onyebuchi Mba. During the meeting, Comrade Mba highlighted the pressing need for the full implementation of the 2023 Enugu State Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities Prohibition Law and the establishment of a dedicated commission to oversee the rights and welfare of PWDs.
