Hon. Olarewaju Oladosu Highlights Osun State Govt’s Commitment to PWDs on Fresh FM

OSOGBO, NIGERIA — In a recent appearance on Fresh FM Radio Osogbo, Hon. Olarewaju Oladosu, the Special Assistant to the Osun State Governor on Disability Matters, passionately discussed the numerous strides being made by the current administration under Governor Ademola Adeleke to uplift the Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) community across the state.

During the radio program, Hon. Oladosu emphasized the governor’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that PWDs are not left behind in the state’s developmental agenda. He highlighted several key initiatives aimed at empowering this often marginalized group, noting that these efforts reflect the governor’s deep concern for the welfare and inclusion of PWDs in Osun State.

Empowerment of PWDs Farmers’ Association

One of the major highlights of Hon. Oladosu’s discussion was the upcoming empowerment program for the PWDs Farmers’ Association. This initiative, which is set to take place soon, will provide much-needed support to PWDs involved in agriculture, a sector that is vital to the state’s economy. The program is designed to equip PWDs with the resources and tools they need to enhance their productivity and achieve greater economic independence.

“The empowerment of the PWDs Farmers’ Association is a testament to Governor Adeleke’s vision of an inclusive Osun State where everyone, regardless of their physical abilities, has the opportunity to thrive,” Hon. Oladosu remarked. He further explained that this initiative would not only improve the livelihoods of the beneficiaries but also contribute to the overall agricultural output of the state.

Importance of the Osun State Enrollment Exercise

Hon. Oladosu also shed light on the significance of the ongoing Osun State Enrollment Exercise for PWDs. This initiative is a critical component of the state’s strategy to accurately identify and document all PWDs within its borders. By doing so, the government can better tailor its services and interventions to meet the specific needs of this community.

“The Enrollment Exercise is a crucial step towards ensuring that no PWD is left behind,” Hon. Oladosu stated. “It will pave the way for the government to take better care of PWDs, providing them with the necessary support and services they deserve.”

He urged all PWDs in the state to actively participate in the exercise, stressing that their inclusion in the government’s database is essential for effective planning and resource allocation.

Assurances for PWDs Seeking Teaching Jobs

Addressing concerns from PWDs who have applied for teaching positions within the state, Hon. Oladosu offered words of encouragement. He assured them that the Osun State Government is committed to creating opportunities for qualified PWDs and that their applications are being given serious consideration.

“Very soon, the state government will take steps to bring smiles to the faces of PWDs who have applied for teaching jobs,” he revealed. “Governor Adeleke is determined to ensure that capable and qualified PWDs are given the chance to contribute to the education sector in Osun State.”

This assurance has brought renewed hope to many PWDs who aspire to serve as educators, reinforcing the governor’s reputation as a leader who values inclusivity and equal opportunities for all.

Infrastructure and Health Improvements

Hon. Oladosu also took the opportunity to highlight some of the broader achievements of Governor Adeleke’s administration, particularly in the areas of infrastructure and healthcare. He spoke about the numerous road networks that have been developed across various local governments in the state, which have greatly improved accessibility and connectivity for all residents, including PWDs.

In addition to infrastructure, the administration’s focus on health improvement was also praised. Hon. Oladosu noted that the government has made significant investments in the health sector to ensure that quality healthcare is accessible to every citizen, including those with disabilities.

“The governor’s efforts in these areas are not just about building roads or hospitals; they are about building a state where everyone can live healthy, productive lives,” he said.

A Call for Support and Prayers

Concluding his remarks, Hon. Oladosu called on the PWD community in Osun State to continue supporting the administration of Governor Adeleke. He emphasized the importance of unity and collective effort in advancing the cause of PWDs and urged everyone to keep the governor in their prayers.

“Let us continue to support Mr. Governor and pray for his success,” Hon. Oladosu encouraged. “Together, we can achieve great things and make Osun State a better place for all, especially for our PWD community.”

The radio program, which was widely listened to across the state, has further solidified Hon. Oladosu’s position as a dedicated advocate for the rights and welfare of PWDs in Osun State. His assurances and the initiatives highlighted during the broadcast have brought hope to many, reaffirming the government’s commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for all citizens.
