Inclusive Club: Group recruits young advocates on disability inclusion

Inclusive Voice for Women and Youth Initiative inaugurated an inclusive club in Community Secondary School Kabusa, Abuja

The group who visited the school recently form the club to improve the students knowledge on the foundamental laws, rights and responsibilities to improve their perception on persons with disabilities.

The idea behind it is to build up young advocates of disability inclusion and to promote the rights of persons with disabilities in schools, communities and organisations.

The Executive Director of the Inclusive Voice for Women and Youth Initiative, Miss Okeoghene Jane Akpaeva in her opening remark explained the terms of disability inclusion and also introduced the disability law to the students. She also stated the importance of the inclusive club in the school which is majorly to make them advocates of Disability Inclusion.

The Chairman, Board of Trustees of Inclusive Voice for Women and Youth Initiative, Mr Tochukwu Nwankwo encouraged the students to participate in creating awareness on disability inclusion.

The inaugurated President, Miss Stella and the Vice-president, Miss Chinaza of the Inclusive club expressed their gratitude and assured their dedication to be great ambassadors of disability inclusion and promote the right of persons with disability in the society.

The Vice Principal, Mr. Gata appreciated Inclusive Voice for Women and Youth Initiative for the inauguration of the inclusive club, that it is the first and one of its kind in the school.

The patron and matron of the inclusive club, teachers of the community secondary school kabusa, Mr Henry and Mrs Amara appreciated Inclusive Voice for Women and Youth Initiative to guide students and also be part of promoting disability inclusion.

TQM reports that the Organizations will continue to monitor the club to ensure that they are carrying out the responsibility of advocating for Disability Inclusion within their society and extend it to their home and society.

TQM also reports that more that the Organizations will still visit more schools to form Inclusive club in line with one of their mandate of ensuring that the voices of persons with disabilities are heard.
