Foundation Empowers PWDs in FCT

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Original Inhabitants persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in collaboration with Mc Arthur Foundation has trained some PWDs on fashion designing to make them self reliant and end street begging in Abuja.

President, Original Inhabitants Persons with Disabilities in the FCT, Festus Yakubu said the training which had 120 Graduands was done in

batches featuring soap making, crafting and fashion designing.

Mr Yakubu urged the participants to ensure they use the knowledge gained to improve on their livelihood and add value to the society.

The Supervisory Councillor for Health, Kwali Area Council, Mr Lassa Yusuf and the head Teacher LEA Primary school Islamiya Kwali, Malama Aishatu Bukar pledged their commitment to ensure the trainees practice skills acquired for self development.

Some of the Graduands thanked the organizations for the empowerment and promised to use the knowledge judiciously.

About Forty of them graduated from the Fashion designing aspect of the skill acquisition.
