To further demonstrate the ability in Disabilities, the FCT Para Soccer team presented a trophy to the Executive Secretary, National Commission for Persons With Disabilities, Mr James David Lalu recently in Abuja, after emerging champions in the Adedayo Benjamin Laniyi Foundations Sports tournament.
In a press signed by Mr. Mbanefo JohnMichaels I, the head, Press and Public Relations Unit, NCPWD, Mr. James David Lalu who was visibly excited to receive the soccer team encouraged them to keep the flag flying and never allow anything to distract them in life.
“You must stay focused and continue to bring in the trophies just as your senior counterparts did Nigeria proud at the last Paralympics with several medals” he said.
The Commission helmsman, therefore, underscored that sports is a great avenue for Persons With Disabilities to showcase their talents and also contribute to the development of Nigeria.
He then reassured the team that their healthcare is paramount and he would ensure they are captured for health insurance as soon as possible.
Earlier in his speech, the Head coach of the team, Umar Jimba solicited for health Insurance for members of the team. He further recounted their not so good experience throughout the tournament and equally used the opportunity to express his gratitude to the ES for always catering for their welfare .
“You are not only the father of Persons with Disabilities but, the suceptible in Nigeria” he added.
