ES NCPWD, Mr James David Lalu
The Executive Secretary, National Commission for Persons With Disabilities, Mr. James David Lalu has announced a possible Disability allowance to Persons With Disabilities in the inclusive policy of the Bola Tinubu led administration.
The ES made this statement recently in Abuja when he received in audience a delegation from the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria.
In his address, the Executive Secretary said that Federal Government has reiterated its commitment in a recent pronouncement by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu urging the governors of the 36 States of the Federation to ensure that poverty is eradicated from the Nigerian society.
“All hands must be on deck to allow the poor breath rather than make life difficult for them” Lalu reiterated.
In the same vein, the ES informed that efforts are on the way to introduce Bill seeking approval for disability allowance for Civil servants across the country.
Lalu underscored the symbiotic relationship that is expected between pressure groups such as the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN) and government’s establishments for the overall benefits of the populace.
He equally seized the occasion to encourage the Comrades to be champions of Disabilities inclusion in various spheres of the society.
The spokesman of the delegation Comrade M.M Abass who represented their National President, in his response underpinned the importance of a seamless collaboration which according to him is germane to high productivity at workplaces.
He also used the medium to introduce the interim Executive members of the NCPWD chapter of the association and promised a smooth working relationship with the Commission.
However, the Chairman of the newly inaugurated Chapter of NCPWD, Hajia Mujaheed Abudokee of the PRS Department, in her inaugural speech stated that the entire team of NCPWD Chapter will work and abide through the tenets of the mandate of the Commission and the laid down rules of the Association.
She further expressed her gratitude to the ES whom she described as the patriarch of the susceptible in Nigeria.
“We thank the Executive Secretary for his broad-mindedness and fatherly disposition as we say, more powers to his elbows” She submitted.
