ES, NCPWD lauds UNESCO, reaffirms need for registration and concrete data base of PWDs

The Executive Secretary National Commission for Persons with Disabilities Mr James Lalu, in his continuous efforts to ensure that Disability matters are discussed at every important meeting around the world, during a two day event organized by Unesco on Brainstorming and capacity building session for Associations and Organizations working with PWDs.

In his welcome Address, appreciated the Organizers of the Event , he thanked them for their unrelenting efforts and continuous strive to ensure that the capacity of persons, Associations and Organizations of Persons with Disabilities are strengthened to deliver on their mandates.

He further emphasized on the need for PWD to be Registered, acquire Certificate, there by creating a concrete Data base for PWDs to work with to ensure that Persons with Disabilities have their fair and just allocation.

In his ever zealous nature to see that his mandates are carried out to the latter, he called on Unesco and other foreign Donors not to relent on their continuous support towards the Disability Community, so together , with one voice, one mind and one Mission there will be no limits to the heights that can be attained by persons with Disabilities.

The session was attended by the Executive Secretary NCPWD Mr James Lalu, Ag Dir. Social Intergration, Mr Lawrence Idemudia, Ag. Dir. Planning Research and Statistics, Mr John Gyang and other staff of NCPWD, JONAPWD

President, Ms Judith Ekaette Umoh, Executive Director, CCD, Mr. David Anyaele, SA to Governor’s on Disability matters from states, and other Stakeholders in the Disability Community.
