ES, NCPWD James Lalu Receives Humanitarian Award Of Excellence

Upholding the tenets of patriotism and dedication to advancing the course of the Disability community, the Executive Secretary, National Commission for Persons with Disabilities, Mr James David Lalu has reaffirmed his commitment to the well-being of Persons with Disabilities throughout Nigeria.

In a press release signed Mbanefo JohnMichaels I, Head Press and Public Relations Unit, NCPWD, he made the affirmative statement in his office Friday 2nd June, 2023 while receiving a delegation of Lalu Ambassadors and Legacy Forum.

While addressing the group, the ES reiterated that the Commission was primarily set up to cater for the welfare of Persons With Disabilities across the country. “I am only doing what I think is right as provided by the 2018 Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities (prohibition) Act, he said”.

“Never again will Persons with Disabilities be neglected or be perceived as beggars in our society, they’ll rather be seen to be productive and contributing to the overall growth of Nigeria” he asserted.

The Commission’s boss further appreciated the group for deeming it fit to recognize his role in the Disability community. He, as well encouraged them to be good Ambassadors of the community.In his response, the Spokesman of the group, Muhammad Abdullah Adamu expressed his profound gratitude to the ES for his meekness, and passion as demonstrated towards the entire community of Persons With Disabilities over the years.

“We are here today to bestow on you an enviable Humanitarian Award of Excellence for your relentless efforts towards the welfare of Persons with Disabilities, this award is well deserved and should not be seen as mere plaque but, an expression of love for humanity” he stated.

He also disclosed that numerous persons with Disabilities have benefitted from the affirmative action of inclusion based on the 5% employment quota being championed by the Executive Secretary.
