Mr. Maduakor Chukwudi has emerged as the uncontested winner of the Amputee Football Federation presidential election in Abuja.
The Nigerian News Agency reports that in the elections held at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, Chukwudi won 10 votes.
His main task is to bring innovations that will give the federation a new image in the sport.
NAN reports that Bungon Dauda was elected unopposed as Vice President of North West with 10 votes
In response to his victory, Chukwudi said that the board would continue to sponsor and support the various activities of the federation.
“We need sponsors to develop our sport in Nigeria and as president this is my duty
“We will be looking for sponsors to help and support us in our various activities to ensure that we grow.
“The welfare of the players will be our biggest concern because without them (the players) there are no people to manage,” he said
NAN reports that the election was held under the direction of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.
The National Parasport Federation was going to hold elections for seven Parasport Federations, but six were held.
Those held are Para-athletics, Para-weightlifting, Para-soccer, Para-swimming, Sitting Volleyball and Amputee Soccer.
