Chairman, Anambra State Disability Rights Commission, Barrister Chukwuka Ezewuzie meets with a US-Based Deaf Professor of Special Education, Patrick Obiozor Atuonah

On 12th January, 2022, the Chairman and CEO of the Anambra State Disability Rights Commission, Barrister Chukwuka Ezewuzie had a meeting with a US based Deaf Professor of Special Education, Patrick Obiozor Atuonah who paid a courtesy visit to the Disability Right Commission in Awka.

Introducing himself, Professor Patrick Obiozor Atuonah who hails from Onitsha, said he majored in Special Education and taught at Galluadet University in the United States. He noted that he had served the Disability Community diligently for over three decades in the United States and now that he’s retired he is also ready to contribute his quota to the development of Ndị Anambra with Disabilities.

Welcoming the guest, Barr Ezewuzie explained that DRC is newly established and at such need people like the Professor who have served the Disability Community abroad to bring in their wealth of experience to improve the lives of persons with disabilities in the state just as Governor Willie Obiano desired.
” I’m delighted to have met you today and i want to assure you that Anambra State Disability Right Commission (DRC) is ever ready to work with you and other experts as our Disability Ambassadors.
” Just like Akpọkuedike called me up from Boston USA to come and serve the Disability Community, I also call on you to brace up for the many task ahead.” Barr Ezewuzie concluded.

Responding, Prof Atuonah said he is ever ready to serve if called upon.
” Though I’m retired,I’m ever ready to work for the betterment of my people. That’s why I’m home,so it will be a privilege on my part to contribute my quota from my years of experience abroad.”

Present during the visit was the coordinator of Deaf Services at Office of the Governor on Disability Matters Mr Amobi Nwagwu.
