In a remarkable act of kindness and commitment to empowering people with disabilities, the Beautiful Gate Handicapped Peoples Centre in Jos has generously donated 190 tricycle wheelchairs to individuals in Katsina State. The first event took place on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Musawa Local Government Area (LGA). Here, 100 tricycle wheelchairs, alongside 15 crutches, were handed over to the Member Representing Musawa and Matazu Federal Constituency, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Ahmed. The donation was aimed at reaching out to the needy constituents of Musawa and Matazu, offering them newfound mobility and a chance to improve their lives. The presentation was made by Sandra Yilgwan, the Media Officer of the Beautiful Gate Handicapped People’s Centre, who emphasized the importance of using these mobility aids to pursue education and vocational training. She encouraged the beneficiaries to shun street begging and work towards financial independence, underscoring the Centre’s mission of not just providing physical mobility but also empowering individuals to lead self-sufficient lives.
Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Ahmed, in his address, expressed profound gratitude to the Beautiful Gate Handicapped Peoples Centre for their generosity. In a similar vein, the Beautiful Gate Centre extended its generosity to Danmusa Local Government Area, where they donated the remaining 90 tricycle wheelchairs and 20 crutches. This event, initially scheduled to take place at the Danmusa Council Secretariat, was relocated to the Yantumaki community due to security concerns. The presentation was made to the Executive Chairman of the LGA, Hon. Sanusi Abass Dangi. The event was attended by local officials and community members, all of whom expressed their heartfelt thanks for the donations.
Hon. Hayatu Dantakuri, the Leader of the Legislative Arm of the Danmusa Council, acknowledged the efforts of the Beautiful Gate team. He also recognized the ongoing challenges faced by the community, particularly concerning security, and expressed hope for peace and stability. “This donation comes at a time when our community needs it most.
