The letter makes particular mention of Fasola Olamide from Ward 11, who is vying for the position of executive chairman of Odogbolu Local Government. Olamide, who has already served as the outgoing Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), has proven his capacity for leadership despite the challenges he has faced as a person with a disability. His candidacy is seen as a pivotal moment for PWD representation in Ogun politics.
In addition to Olamide’s chairmanship campaign, the group highlighted the candidacy of Babatunde Nureni Alao, who is running for councillor in Ward 3 of Ado Odo Ota Local Government, and other PWD aspirants such as Yekini Adeniyi Abiodun (Ward 13, Odogbolu LGA), Thomas Francisca Isioma (Ward 10, Sagamu LGA), and Wasiu Olalekan Jinadu (Ward 4, Ifo LGA). Each of these individuals is seeking councillorship positions in their respective wards, with the shared goal of bringing attention to the issues facing PWDs in their communities.
Other notable PWD aspirants include Caleb Adesina Akiije-Ogunyemi from Ward 2, Ijebu-North, Mabawonku Kabir Oyedele from Ward 11, Sagamu Local Government, and Salaudeen Omotosho Kosamat from Ward 13, Sagamu Local Government.
