Considering the important of Wheelchairs and its positive impact on the lives of people with mobility challenges, specifically spinal cord injury survivors.
The Spinal Cord Injuries Association Of Nigeria (SCIAN) Bauchi state chapter has presented a new brand Wheelchair to one of our members with Spinal Cord Injury without Wheelchair for about thirteen years.
Samuel Luka of Yelwan Kagadama has sustained the injury during sport festivals at Port Harcourt in 2009.
The Wheelchair was provided through contribution from members of SCIAN specifically Safiya A. Gimba and a Journalist working with Bauchi State Television Authority (BATV) Elizabeth Carr.
Other well meaning individuals also contributed in our effort to provide ten Wheelchairs to our members in need. The Chairman Spinal Cord Injuries Association Of Nigeria (SCIAN) Bauchi state chapter, Malam Iliya Ismail during the presentation thanks to all those that contributed for the purchased of a Wheelchair. He also urged the Bauchi state government to contribute for the well being of their members and other Persons With Disabilities in the state.
