Jake Epelle emerges the first President of Albinism Association of Nigeria (AAN)

The founder and CEO of The Albino Foundation (TAF) Jake Epelle has emerged as the maiden President of The Albinism Association of Nigeria (AAN).

This was disclosed to TQM from a press statement signed by Mrs Josephine Omolola, Chairman, AAN Electoral Committee. The Committee announced that Mr. Jake Epelle emerged winner of the Election when he scored 83 votes during a  virtual election of the association.

The Albinism Association of Nigeria on Saturday 9th October, 2021 held their Association’s national election virtually.

According to Mrs. Josephine Omolola, Albinism Association of Nigeria is informing the public that  they held a successful conduct of the Association’s national virtual election and the results of the election were:

The Accredited Delegates were 124, under President, Mr. Jake Epelle emerged winner with 83 votees and 83 delegates voted. Mariya Ishaka won the post of Vice President (North) wit 81 votes and 81 delegates voted.  OLABISI BAMISILE was chosen ahead of EMEKA UGWU with 46 votes against Emeka Ugwu’s 35 votes and the 81 delegates participated. DANIEL ONAH was voted for the post of Secretary General with 82 votes and 82 delegated voted. For the  post of Assistant General Secretary, REX ERAMEH lost to  ABIMBOLA OLAWASEGUN with 27 votes which was far below Abimlola’s 55 votes and 82 delegates voted.

Other winners are NNOYE OGBUAGU (welfare director) with 82 votes and 82 delegates participated. ABEL  TERMA MVENDAGA clinched the post of Financial Secretary with 71 votes against JAIYEOLA FATUNGASE who got 13 votes and a total of 84 delegates participated. ELIZABETH OMOTOLA defeated ONYINYE EDI, PEACE ONURI by 42 to 10 and 30 votes to winner the post of Treasurer, and SAIMALAI SALISU won the post of Public Relation Officer with 51 votes against MAUREEN OLUCHI, ABRAHAM OGUCHE, 30 and 2 votes and 83 delegates voted.

The Committee adjudged the election to be free, fair, credible and inclusive and appreciated membership of AAN, especially the delegates who voted overwhelmingly for the candidates of their choice.

They congratulated the maiden executives of the Association and wish them successful tenure of office.

In TQM, we congratulated Mr. Jake Epelle and his executives and we are urging them to discharge their duties to the benefits of all Persons with Albinism in Nigeria.
