2023: Women, PWDs Endorse Doyin Eshanumi for Senate, the only female aspirant in Kogi West

Women and Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in Kogi West have endorsed the only female Senatorial Aspirant in the zone, Chief Mrs. Adedoyin Ibikunle Eshanumi, as preferred candidate to represent them at the Senate in the 2023 general elections.

The women who are mostly widows from Yagba Federal Constituency also appealed to His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello, to endorse the candidacy of Eshanumi to clinch the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for senate in the primary election.

Eshanumi, a successful business woman, is the Founder of an NGO known as ”Doyin and Susan Foundation,”. The NGO was formed with vision of reaching out to the vulnerable especially children, women and widows in order to alleviate their suffering.

In their separate comments at the endorsement rally in Isanlu on Tuesday, the women commended Eshanumi for her philanthropic gesture towards the vulnerable women and children over the past years in the zone.

Mrs Mary Adeoye, a Women Leader in Itedo-Makutu, Isanlu, said the entire women in the area are solidly behind Eshanumi to realising her political ambition.

”All the men who had been representing us have failed us, Doyin Eshanumi will do well, better and make us happy. She is the husband of the widows.

”We are begging our Governor, Yahaya Bello to give her the APC ticket for senate, and we will all vote for her,” Adeoye said

Also speaking, Mrs Florence Omokore, said Eshanumi has been taking good care of the widows and vulnerable children, appealing to the Governor to support her ambition for senate.

”We know Doyin Eshanumi, she always remember widows in our land; she has been given us money, food, clothes and everything; we cannot joke with her.

”We are begging our Governor, Yahaya Bello to give her ticket. All women in Kogi west will vote for her if she is given APC ticket for senate,” Omokore said.

On her part, Mrs Janet Ajiboye, said: ”Doyin Eshanumi is a woman among women, she is the husband of the widows; we will vote for her if our Governor give her ticket.

”When Doyin reach the Senate, we women will enjoy because she will make us happy’. So, both old and young women will vote for her”.

Also, Mr Moses Eniksnolaiye, Leader of PWDs in the area, said the people leaving with disabilities have also join their voices with women to endorse Eshanumi and to appealed the Governor to let her get the ticket.

”We, as persons with disabilities have also benefitted from the humanitarian gesture of Doyin Eshanumi in the past, and we are ready to vote for her if our women friendly Governor give her the ticket,” Enikanolaiye said.

Responding, Eshanumi thanked the women for their support and endorsement, assuring them of her commitment to continue to empower and make them happy.

”I assure you that I will not let you down. By God’s grace, when I get to senate, I will do more for you and the entire Kogi west,” Eshanumi said.

After the rally, the aspirant distributed foodstuffs such as semo, rice, noodles, maggi, tin tomatoes and salt to the women.

Doyin and Susan foundation has empowered many vulnerable women, widows, the less privilege children and youths across the Kogi west senatorial district.
