As the 2023 general elections gather momentum, people with disabilities have been challenged to get their permanent voters card in order to participate in the election process.

The Oyo State INEC Electoral Commissioner Mr, Mutiu Agboke who was represented by INEC Gender unit Mrs Catherine Agu at the sensitization program with people with disabilities on election voting and roles to play, reiterated the importance of permanent voters card in any election stressing that it’s one of the civil rights of the citizens.
Furthermore Mrs Catherine Agu “revealed that over 30million Nigerians are people with disabilities adding that if 16 million of them within the voting age could participate in the forthcoming general elections, it will definitely bring more attention to the government on how important people with disabilities are in the nation”
Special Assistant to the Governor on people with special needs Mr Femi Timothy who convey the program “assured Mrs Catherine Agu that there will be a massive turnout of people with disabilities come 2023 general election as the state government continues to organize sensitization program’s to educate the people with disabilities in the state on necessity of their PVC”
Mr Femi Timothy also”promised Mrs Catherine Agu that the state government will continue to work together in getting the exact figure of all the people with disabilities in the geo-political zone in OYO state and will be presented to the Governor before the election date.
