2022 Graduation Ceremony: SafeHost International Initiative honours pupils with disabilities

Safehost International Initiative, an inclusive school located at Kurudu, Abuja has specially recognition some graduating pupils with disabilities with awards of excellence in Bible Characters.

They were honoured during Graduation ceremony organized by Safehost International Initiative on Friday in their school premises.

The proprietor of the School, Mrs. Ngozi Beluolisa in her welcome address welcomed and appreciated the special guests, the parents of the pupils, and the pupils. She acknowledged the fact that education is a process and the school has journeyed for so many years and they will continue to move forward, there would be no room to give up.

She praised the pupils for their commitment to learning and pointed out how the school have been able to make the learning to become a fun. She informed that the pupils are well equipped to take up the challenges of their next class.

“They have strong foundations, we are here to give them strong foundations to enable them handle their future challenges”.

She informed that Safehost is made up of the initiative and the academy, the initiative takes care of children with disabilities and the academy take care of other children.

She said that they have been successful because they believe so much in the training of their teachers both internally and externally.

“Many of the teachers from inception, don’t know anything about inclusive education and how to manage children with disabilities so it behooves on Safehost to train the teachers for the benefit of the children”.

About 10 children with disabilities were honoured, they are Ruth, David, Tabitha, Nehemiah, Joseph, Deborah, Joshua, Mary, Esther and Mary.

Other awards given by the school were Parent Award for consistency to Mrs. Vivian Agbaeze for her outstanding commitment and Community Award for selfless advertisement to Mrs. Emily Ajuzie who the proprietor described as the Mouthpiece of the School.

“Mrs Emily has been talking to people about Safehost and have been bringing them to us at no cost all”.

The graduation was fun filled as the pupils, teachers and parents entertained the guests with several educational games.

It also witnessed the presence of some notable guests such as representatives of The Leprosy Mission Nigeria, Nifemi Adams from JKS, Chairman, National Association of Persons with Physical Disabilities, FCT Chapter, Agbo Christian Obiora among others.
