INTL DAY OF GIRLCHILD: Faecare foundation calls for introduction of more girls to digital technology

FAECARE FOUNDATION celebrates INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE GIRLCHILD 2021
Theme: Digital generation, Our generation.
The non-governmental organization known for the propagation of the rights of persons with disabilities especially women and children with disabilities, based on the theme of this year’s celebration, pointed out the importance of digitalization and why more girls should be encouraged to take it up as a profession.

In partnership with the Swedish Mission Council (SMC), the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), and The Leprosy Mission Sweden, TLM-Nigeria has commenced a Vocational Skills Acquisition Programme for income generation. Young persons affected by leprosy and disability will be offered opportunities to develop skills in agriculture, automotive repair, electrical repairs, event planning, arts and crafts, fashion designing, makeup artistry, carpentry, painting, interior decoration, hairdressing and burning salon and much more. REMEMBER: This project will only be implemented in 6 states, F.C.T, Kogi, Kwara, Niger, Sokoto, Kebbi. All applications should be submitted before or on the 30th of October 2021
The group lamented that many girls are not quickly and readily introduced to the digital world when compared to the male counterpart.
They called for the change of the scenario women are engine for transformational change so when you equip girls with the right resources, the gap between boys and girls economically would be bridged.
